Reaching Out to Youth

You don't have to watch an episode of Glee to know that bullying is a huge issue in today's world. According to Yale, 4,400 deaths are attributed to bullying every year. Where most of us go wrong is we think its happening to the "Nerd we see on TV" and not to our nephew or niece, neighbours kids or even our own kids.

PI Group Member and blogger Sara Westbrook has written a great song and produced a video that I urge you all to send to the teen/young people in your life. Surely if they are not the victim of bullying, they know several friends and students who are that they can pass it on to. Often these kids feel they have no one to talk to, so they don't. This is one way we can reach them.

The video "At War With Myself" http://bit.ly/h5M7EQ is on our group wall right now. Also consider/suggest bringing Sara and her UPower concert to your youth's school. I believe each and every time she goes to talk to a school assembly she turns kids lives around and often saves lives. Pass it on to any teachers/princpals or youth leaders you may know.

We often feel better about a situation once we have taken action.

Thanks,
